Charlie Sheen Cookie a Big Hit

Todd Becker, baker/owner of Beckers Bakery & Deli, tops a sugar cookie with Sheen's image.

Come Tuesday morning, folks who want to take a bite out of Charlie Sheen can do so with one of Beckers Bakery's hot-selling Charlie Sheen cookies.

The cookie is a sugar cookie decorated with an image of Charlie Sheen that has been printed onto a sugar sheet, with white buttercream sandwiched in-between the image and the cookie.

Last Friday, the bakery made and sold six. On Sunday, all 100 cookies sold out by 3 p.m., some of them also bearing the phrase "Tiger Blood."

Apparently, the cookies, as with Sheen, have generated conversation and buzz.

"Almost all of the customers who came in had some comment to make about the cookies," said Manhattan Beach Scott Debaets of Beckers Bakery & Deli. "We had orders for 24 on the second day as well as making and selling over 48 for the store."

When the bakery, which is closed on Mondays, opens Tuesday at 7 a.m., customers can expect 100 freshly baked Sheen cookies.

"The idea came about by just trying to do something different," told Patch. "Todd [Becker, the owner and baker] is always trying different things to see what works and what doesn't.

"They'll be available until they stop selling or stop generating interest. Who knows how long Charlie will still be in the news?" said Debaets.
