Opera and a seamless piano accompaniment filled the halls of Trinity Lutheran Church on Friday. Two days later, a master organist played Bach and Buxtehude on the church's mighty Dobson organ.

The two performances are part of Trinity's three classical musical series: "Bach's Lunch Recitals," held on the first Fridays of October through June, and the "Main Concert Series" held on specific Sundays at 4 p.m. "The Previews" are held on the third Saturdays from August to May. There are approximately 25 performances in a season.

Friday's recital showcased soprano singer Susan Dietz and collaborative pianist Victoria Kirsch, who performed classics such as Douglas Moore's "Willow Aria" from The Ballad of Baby Doe and songs from contemporary composer Adrienne Albert. On Sunday, organist Timothy Howard, who began playing when he was 4 years old, rendered compositions from William Walond and Hermann Schroeder.

"I've been coming to the concerts for several years and they are always fabulous, but today's was especially fabulous," Manhattan Beach resident Janet Johnson said after Friday's recital.

The full 2010-2011 schedule of performances is available online.
