What's Up: Artistry, Athleticism, Bike/Skateboard Safety Expo, Chevron Tour

Drama, rivals, bike/skateboard safety, Chevron Tours... there's lots to do in Manhattan Beach this weekend.

Here are five things for your Friday and beyond in Manhattan Beach:  

  1. Get your tickets now for "The Crucible," on stage Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday at 2 and 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium of Mira Costa High School. Drama students opened the production last weekend and conclude it this Saturday. Read the review here.
  2. The Mira Costa Mustangs will host the Redondo Union High School Sea Hawks in a varsity football clash between the two cross-town rivals Friday beginning at 7 p.m. in Waller Stadium.
  3. The 13th Annual Bike and Skateboard Show and Safety Expo is set for Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The free event will be held at Manhattan Beach Middle School on the basketball courts. Details here.

  5. Sign up on a waitlist to tour the Chevron El Segundo Refinery Saturday between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., according to an online post by the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce. Sixty-minute tours will be conducted entirely by bus. All sign up times are taken, however, you can put your party on a waitlist by emailing tours@chevron.com or calling (310) 615-5254.
