Free Alzheimer's Education Workshops for Family Caregivers

The local Home Instead Senior Care office is offering free Alzheimer’s care education workshops to all South Bay residents who are caring for an aging parent or relative with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias.

The workshops will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Active Rx, 3858 W. Carson St., Suite #121, Torrance, CA 90503. Following are the dates and topics of each workshop:

Monday, November 26:  Alzheimer’s Disease or Other Dementias

Monday, December 3:  Life’s Journey

Monday, December 10:  Techniques to Handle Challenging Behaviors

Monday, December 17: Activities to Encourage Engagement

The Home Instead Senior Care network assembled the top experts in Alzheimer’s disease to develop the CARE approach (Changing Aging through Research and Education.)  “We are very pleased to be able to provide these workshops to family caregivers,” says Denise de Cock, R.N., owner of Home Instead Senior Care serving the South Bay.   “It is similar to the kind of training our professional CAREgivers receive and until there is a cure, we offer an interim solution.”

Please call (310) 542-0563 to RSVP or for more information.  Light refreshments will be provided.
