car2go, the fastest-growing global carsharing company, will be launching its service in the South Bay of the Los Angeles region on Friday, June 6th, and we wanted to extend a special invitation to your outlet to attend a press conference at the Hermosa Beach Pier on Thursday, June 5th beginning at 10:00 AM.  The press conference will provide an opportunity for your outlet to get an exclusive, in-depth sneak peek of the car2go smart fortwo vehicle, as well as interviews with car2go President and CEO Nicholas Cole, City of Hermosa Beach Mayor Michael DiVirgilio, City of Redondo Beach Mayor Steve Aspel and local City Council members.

WHAT: car2go will be expanding its network in Southern California with its pioneering point-to-point carsharing service in the South Bay region of Los Angeles County on June 6th, marking the South Bay as car2go's 14th market in North America and the first in the Los Angeles region. car2go will provide a network of 150 smart fortwo car2go edition vehicles for shared use, allowing members to use the service by the minute, 24 hours a day, seven days a week – without committing to a specific return time or dedicated location. The car2go Home Area – meaning that members can pick up a vehicle at a parking meter in Hermosa Beach and drop it off in El Segundo -- covers approximately 28 square miles, including El Segundo, Hawthorne, Torrance, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach and Lomita as the first expansion in Southern California.
