The City of Manhattan Beach will be receiving two Spotlight Awards at the League of California Cities Conference for its participation in the Institute for Local Government’s Beacon program. The Beacon Program is a statewide program recognizing California cities and counties that are working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, save energy and adopt policies and programs that promote sustainability. Kudos to the City's Environmental Programs Manager Sona Coffee for her excellent work on these programs.

Gold Spotlight Award for Best Practices (3 in each of the 10 areas)
Platinum Spotlight Award for Electricity Savings (26% savings 2004-2011)
