WHAT:           It is a day of inspiration and hope as the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network holds its 3rd Annual PurpleStride Los Angeles Walk 2012 at Plaza El Segundo to help raise awareness and much-needed funds for pancreatic cancer research.  The PurpleStride Los Angeles is dedicated to honor and remember loved ones who have lost their battle with this deadly disease.

The family-fun event kicks-off with a leisurely 1.5 mile walk around Plaza El Segundo.  The Walk will be filled with kids’ activities, musical entertainment, a raffle, an auction, free refreshments and special presentations from heroes in the pancreatic cancer community. The community can also become more involved by participating in the Purple Spirit Contest by decking-out their cars in purple. Participants will park in a specially designated parking lot and judging will be based on the use of the color purple, creativity, originality and spirit. Prizes will be awarded.

Registration for the walk is $25 for adults and $15 for children 3-12 years old. Pancreatic cancer survivors can register for free. T-shirts will be given to participants who register online by April 13. Registration is accepted for individuals and teams. Visit www.PurpleStride.org to sign-up or for more information.
