Manhattan Beach Celebrates Centennial, Holidays With Fireworks

The City of Manhattan Beach celebrated the holidays and its centennial with two fireworks shows in one night.

The Manhattan Beach pier was lit up Sunday night as the city simultaneously celebrated the holiday season and its 100 year anniversary with two separate fireworks shows.

The first show, which was performed to holiday music, dazzled thousands. An hour and a half later, a second show sponsored by Skechers gave visitors more bang for their buck with another half-hour show.

Thousands lined Manhattan Beach Boulevard, the beach and The Strand to take in the excitement which included live music and even a sledding hill complete with real snow.

This year, even the Travel Channel was on hand to witness the show, which was named one of the top two holiday fireworks shows in the nation, according to the Beach Reporter.
