Whiz Kid Brian Liebson is Multi-Talented

Each week, Manhattan Beach Patch will recognize individual kids, teens, youth groups and sports teams that wow us with their accomplishments.

Please send your nominations to Liz.Spear@patch.com. We want to hear about these amazing children and teens, and we will select one each week as the Manhattan Beach Patch Whiz Kid.

This week’s feature is on a teenager with multiple talents.

○      School/Church: Vistamar School

○      Accomplishment: Brian is a straight-A student, he performs with POPs musical theater group and just landed the lead role of “Man in Chair” in an upcoming production of The Drowsy Chaperone.  Brian has danced, sung and acted since the third grade, is currently a member of the Arial Arts Academy and can be seen performing on the jezebel at the corner of Aviation and Artesia Blvds.  He travels extensively, having been an exchange student in Japan, worked in the Panda Preserve in Cheng Du Province and volunteered on an Indian Reservation in Colorado.  Brian recently returned from Oakridge, TN with his school Physics team having placed 3rd in a nationwide competition (and he doesn’t even take physics classes)

○      Key to Awesomeness: He is a warm and welcoming kid who is not afraid to try anything – aerial arts, musical theater, dance, physics competition, cooking club.  He is willing to travel anywhere and loves to learn about other communities and cultures.  He is a diversity advocate and recently represented Vistamar School at the Student Diversity and Leadership Conference in San Diego.
