'Return to Treasure Island' Book Reading, Signing

Shiver me timbers! Jim Hawkins and the infamous pirate Long John Silver are back in John O'Melveny Woods' new swashbuckling sequel, Return to Treasure Island. The author will be reading from his book on July 22 at in Manhattan Beach.

The book, which has a foreword by LeVar Burton and is in development with his film company, is generating excitement from boys of all ages and a few lasses to boot.  

A USC graduate, Woods is excited to travel back to Los Angeles from his home in Leucadia and read from his novel, sign, and converse with readers. What better place to share this nautical adventure tale than a beautiful seaside book shop?

Return to Treasure Island begins three years after Jim Hawkins' departure from Treasure Island when he learns that Long John Silver has been captured and sentenced to death. Hawkins decides to help the pirate and the two embark on a search for the greatest treasure of all—The Pharaoh's Gold. Complete with a budding romance, Jim Hawkins' second adventure proves to be every bit as spellbinding as his first.

Woods will be doing several events around Southern California in the coming months. If you miss him in Manhattan Beach, you can be sure to catch him at The Frugal Frigate Children's Bookstore in Redlands at 11am July 24.
