Sangria Puts on Paint, Music for Japan
Paint brushes transform a canvas into works of art against a captivating musical backdrop as Sangria hosts fundraiser for Japan relief.
Entertainers fused art and music Sunday night at to raise money for victims of the in March. Interpretive painter Norton Wisdom and local musician Ireesh Lal wowed crowds with a unique session of music-inspired live painting.
As a seaside community, Beach Cities residents naturally sympathize with the plight of Japan's devastated areas, said Sangria co-owner Kevin Barry, president of the Downtown Manhattan Beach Business & Professional Association.
"We feel like they are sister cities to us," he said. "This is what we can do to try to help with their loss."
