AT&T Site Shows Company's Network Upgrades

The new AT&T website provides information on network enhancements in cities such as Manhattan Beach, and includes the surrounding Los Angeles area.

Manhattan Beach AT&T customers can now view up-to-date network enhancements in the South Bay through the company's new interactive online map, am AT&T representative announced last week.

The new microsite, which features a neighborhood-level view of AT&T's network improvements, is updated weekly to reflect new cell sites and Internet speed and connection upgrades, according to AT&T representative Meredith Red.

The launch of the new website comes six months after AT&T's cellular service was ranked the lowest in customer satisfaction for the second year in a row in a Consumer Reports survey of 66,000 cell service subscribers.

In Manhattan Beach, the map shows the company has completed 10 network upgrades since January 2011 including five capacity upgrades and five network connection upgrades.

According to the site, capacity upgrades help improve service quality and reduce dropped calls while network connection upgrades help enable 4G speeds on compatible phones.
