The luck of the Irish and the votes went the way of in Manhattan Beach in the MB Patch Readers' Choice poll for best place to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.

In business since 1976 when Paul Hennessey opened his first tavern in Hermosa Beach, Hennessey's Tavern now operates in Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach, Seal Beach, Laguna Beach, Dana Point, Carlsbad, La Jolla, San Diego and Las Vegas, according to their website.

Hennessey's Tavern in MB won with 47 percent of the vote; tying for second place with 11 percent of votes are , , and . Third place with 5 percent of the vote goes to .

Hennessey's, Ercole's and Shellback are within walking distance of each other in downtown Manhattan Beach. Baja Sharkeez and OB's Pub & Grill are within walking distance of one another in North Manhattan Beach. Grunion's Sports Bar & Grill has free parking in a lot.
