Hermosa's Kit Bobko Latest to Endorse Craig Huey

As the November election nears, candidates continue to announce endorsements. See who is on Craig Huey's list.

Hermosa Beach Mayor Pro Tem Patrick "Kit" Bobko joins Manhattan Beach Mayor Wayne Powell on the list of politicians who have endorsed Republican Craig Huey in his bid for California's new 66th Assembly District

Huey's campaign announced Bobko's endorsement Monday.

“California needs a change,” said Bobko in a press release. “As a small business owner, Craig Huey understands what the economy needs in order to grow. Let’s restore fiscal strength and jobs by balancing the budget and eliminating job-killing regulations. Craig Huey will prioritize job creation and get Californians back to work.”

Huey, a Rolling Hills Estates resident, is running against Democrat Al Muratsuchi, a Torrance school board member, to represent the South Bay—including Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, the Palos Verdes Peninsula and Torrance—in the State Assembly. Voters will decide the race at the polls in the November election.

Huey has been endorsed by Congressman Dana Rohrabacher, Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael Antonovich, Rancho Palos Verdes Mayor Anthony Misetich, RPV City Council members Brian Campbell, Jerry Duhovic and Susan Brooks, former RPV Mayor Barbara Ferraro, Redondo Beach City Councilman Matt Kilroy, former Redondo Councilman Gerard Bisignano and former 66th Assembly District Republican candidate Nathan Mintz. Mintz lost to Huey and Muratsuchi under the new "top two" primary law in a March election.

In the March election, of the 256,635 voters registered within the 66th District, 54,334 voters cast their ballots in June's primary election. Muratsuchi received 22,225 votes; Huey received 20,939; and Mintz received 11,170.
