Kiehl's Opens Manhattan Beach Store

The skin care shop is donating 1 percent of all purchases made in the MB store in 2012 to a nonprofit as a way to give back to the community.

Project Angel Food will reap 1 percent of sales made in the new Manhattan Village Kiehl's Since 1851's skincare store for the rest of 2012, according to a Kiehl's press release.

The store opened on Aug. 16 to much fanfare as actors Sam Trammell True Blood and Alan Cumming of The Good Wife helped Kiehl’s celebrate and honor Project Angel Food, whose CEO Margaret Steele was in attendance.

The nonprofit Project Angel Food's mission is to nourish the body and spirit of men, women and children affected by HIV/AIDS, cancer, and other life-threatening illnesses. Project Angel Food delivers more than 13,000 meals a week to people in need, according to its website, using volunteers and staff who cook and deliver free and nutritious meals throughout Los Angeles County.

Chris Salgardo, president, Kiehl’s USA, made the donation announcement as part of the company's continued effort to give back to the communities in which Kiehl’s does business. Manhattan Beach Mayor Wayne Powell attended the opening festivities.

Kiehl's is located at 3200 Sepulveda Boulevard in Manhattan Village.
