New Photo of Bank Robber

The Manhattan Beach Police Department is investigating the robbery of U.S. Bank in Manhattan Village Friday. The robber 'brandished a gun' while committing the crime.

The Manhattan Beach Police Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation are working on the bank robbery case stemming from last Friday's robbery of U.S. Bank in Manhattan Village, said MBPD Detective Sgt. Paul Ford Monday.

Ford declined to say that the bike found abandoned in a Manhattan Beach neighborhood was indeed used in the robber's getaway, saying the man fled "in an unknown direction" in a press release issued Monday. "We have no solid evidence that he did [flee on a bike]," he said.

The bike is being processed by MBPD's Crime Scene Investigation unit, he said.

Ford said the man "brandished" a gun which "was definitely seen" but could not definitively say what kind of gun was used.

Ford released the photos and press release to major media Monday and hopes it will generate leads.
