Olive Press Returns to the Manhattan Beach Farmers Market

The award-winning olive oil company from Sonoma is back at the market and here to stay.

The Olive Press recently returned to the Manhattan Beach Farmers Market after nearly a year-long hiatus. "We're sticking around from now on," said Olive Press employee Rachel Shapiro.

The company is based in Sonoma - the home of its olives - but Olive Press sells at Farmers Markets all over the Los Angeles area, including Newport Beach, Playa Vista and Pacific Palisades.

What makes the company special, Shapiro said, is that they offer unlimited refills at a low price. The 8-ounce bottle costs $9 to refill (compared to its original cost of $19) and the 17-ounce bottle costs $16 to refill (compared to its original cost of $28). Customers can refill the bottle as many times as they like and switch up flavors.

The most popular olive oil flavors, Shapiro said, are garlic rosemary and basil parmesan, but she recommends that more adventurous customers try out the jalapeno flavor.

Olive Press also sells different flavors of balsamic vinegar, including peach, fig and blood orange. Olive oil and balsamic vinegar are a classic combination, Shapiro said, and both are especially good paired with bread. She recommends combining olive oil and balsamic vinegar with tomato, mozarella and basil for a summer snack.
