Skechers Sues New Jersey Clothier

The Manhattan Beach-based global footwear company has filed a lawsuit seeking $2.6 million for alleged nonpayment of footwear shipped under contract to Ecko Direct LLC.

Skechers USA, whose corporate offices are in Manhattan Beach, filed a $2.6 million lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court Friday against Ecko Direct LLC. The breach of contract suit alleges that the New Jersey company has not paid Skechers for footwear shipped to Ecko Direct under a contract.

According to the complaint, Ecko has not paid Skechers for any of its 20 orders requested from August to October, 2011.

Skechers began collection efforts in January, the suit states.
