Set the scene for a romantic Valentine's Day. You don't have to go out of your way to make it count; try these getaways right here in Manhattan Beach:
- The folks at Lido di Manhattan will feature a special prix fixe menu all weekend. Romance will abound in this much-loved Manhattan Beach restaurant, with a classical guitarist on Friday, The Manhattan Beach Jazz Quartet Saturday, and independent jazz artist Joy Rushing on Valentine's Day from 6-9 p.m. On the 14th, look for two seatings, one at 6 and one at 8 p.m., with the prix fixe menu. Heated patio seating will open at 7:30 p.m.
- Zinc Lounge inside Shade Hotel will feature a prix fixe multi-course dinner on Monday, Feb. 14 only. The dinner will be highlighted by Quintessa wine options and a romantic, floral setting. To reserve your place, contact Shaunna at 310-406-6801.
- This Manhattan Beach mainstay with views of the water will feature several Valentine's Day specials, including Maine lobster tail, an oak-grilled filet, and Lobster Bisque. A four-course prix fixe menu will also be available for $99.95 per couple, featuring a split plate filet mignon and Maine lobster tail. Reservations recommended.
-This restaurant, known for its fresh, seasonal menu, will offer a three-course prix fixe menu that features some of its everyday favorites. Enjoy a mini version of the Manhattan Beach Cobb, spring rolls and Indian-spice spinach dip, a choice of entree including roasted chicken or salmon and a selection of deserts. Reservations recommended, particularly if you would like to sit al fresco on the quaint back patio.
- Mangiamo's will feature its regular menu of delectable Italian treats, seafood, martinis, and wine. On the evening of the 14th, there will be two seatings: 6:30 and earlier or 8 p.m. and after. You can request a table in the "cellar," the intimate, brick-walled back room. While requests are not guaranteed, the staff makes every attempt to honor them.
