Zislis Restaurant 'Circa' Opens in Manhattan Beach

The new restaurant will feature chef Octavio Becerra in the former space occupied by Mucho Ultima.

Manhattan Beach saw the opening of another new culinary establishment last week as South Bay restaurateur Michael Zislis debuted his newest restaurant Circa in the space once occupied by Mucho Ultima.

According to Zagat, the new 150 seat restaurant features a menu by consulting chef Octavio Becerra and focuses on globally inspired small plates in a steampunk vintage industrial setting.

Circa also houses a large bar with a cocktail and wine menus designed by Julian Cox and Josh Goldman, Eater Los Angeles reported.

Menu items include Spanish style sardines served in a can, asian fried chicken and for the more adventurous, bone marrow with kimchi and quail eggs, according to Zagat.

Circa's owner, Michael Zislis, is well known for his other upscale projects in Manhattan Beach including The Strand House, Brewco and the Shade Hotel.

Circa, located at 903 Manhattan Avenue, had its soft opening last Thursday and is currently taking reservations for future dates. Restaurant hours will run from 5 p.m. until 12 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday and 5 p.m. until 2 a.m. Friday through Saturday.
