City Hires Noise Consultant

The City has hired a noise expert to conduct noise studies in the neighborhood surrounding the Metlox Plaza. The study is currently underway 24/7 for a two week period. The noise monitoring receptors were placed at the homes of the three people who had expressed concern at a recent City Council meeting. The results of the noise study will be used as a comparison with the 2009 noise study data so impacts can be verified, documented and addressed appropriately. In the meantime, the Shade owner is working with the City Prosecutor, his Architect and a noise consultant to evaluate all design options that would further mitigate noise in and around the Shade hotel. The city continues with a no tolerance enforcement policy to ensure impacts to our residents are appropriately addressed in a timely manner.
