Manhattan Beach Creative Arts Center Features the 4th Annual Manhattan Beach Older Adults Art Show

Opening Reception: Friday, August 23 at 4:00 PM

Manhattan Beach, CA (August 15, 2013) — The Older Adults Program and the Cultural Arts Division of the award-winning Manhattan Beach Parks & Recreation Department present the 4th Annual exhibition Manhattan Beach Older Adults Art Show at the Creative Arts Center (1560 Manhattan Beach Boulevard).

“We have so many great programs in Manhattan Beach.  There are some very talented Baby Boomers who really have some remarkable pieces of art,” said City Manager David Carmany.  “We are truly blessed to have such a wonderful group of artists and this Art Show gives the community a chance to see and meet some of the artists in person.  This is a great time for everyone.”

The goal of this exhibition is to showcase artistic talents of Manhattan Beach residents and students in Manhattan Beach Parks & Recreation art classes ages 55+.  This year, artwork in a variety of media from over 40 members of the Manhattan Beach Older Adults community will be on display in the gallery.  

The exhibition period is August 23 – September 5, 2013, with an opening reception to be held on Friday, August 23 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. Gallery hours are Tuesday and Thursday, 2:00 to 6:00 PM, Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, and Saturday from 1:00 to 5:00 PM.  Admission is free.
