Restriping Of Streets To Begin Tonight

Restriping of Arterial Streets to Begin. Striping operations are scheduled to begin tonight, Sunday night November 4, 2013. Centerline striping on Aviation, Rosecrans, Manhattan Avenue and Highland south of Manhattan Beach Blvd., 15th Street between Highland and Ardmore, and the Streetscape area will occur after 10:00 p.m. and continue until 4:00 a.m. and should be completed by Monday night. The remainder of the repainting, primarily pavement legends and crosswalks, will occur during normal daytime working hours in Section 2 (that area bounded by Manhattan Beach Blvd. on the north, Artesia Blvd. on the south, Sepulveda Blvd. on the west, and Peck Ave. on the east). Section 2 is the last of our seven maintenance areas marked in conventional paint. Upon completion of the Section 2 Concrete Repairs Project and Annual Slurry Project scheduled for summer 2014, nearly all markings will be in long lasting thermoplastic. The city 's service provider is Orange County Striping Service. The city's public works department has worked with the vendor on several projects in the past and has had positive experiences with the firm.
