Notes from the campaign trail . . .
I began watching the Democratic and Republican Conventions on TV with my parents when I was a kid. And I have watched both conventions every four years throughout my life.
As an adult, I have learned to appreciate primary sources of information—and watching a convention allows us to hear what the candidates say—without the hype of the political commercials—pretty background pictures and music. Just the words work for me.
Next week, I will be watching the Republican Convention. Commentary will be forthcoming.
And the following week, for the first time, I will be attending the Democratic Convention—as a Delegate. Commentary will reflect my personal experiences at the Convention—rather than the stuff you will see on TV.
