DUI Checkpoint Saturday Night, Sunday Morning

Anyone drinking alcohol is advised to have a designated sober driver.

A DUI/driver’s license checkpoint will be set up by the Manhattan Beach Police Department on Saturday, beginning at 8 p.m. and lasting through 3 a.m. Sunday.

Police want to re-iterate their "zero tolerance" stance, promote public safety, increase awareness of the dangers of drinking and driving, and deter impaired and unlicensed driving, according to a press release.

The police department encourages designating a sober driver, and believes that by "publicizing these educational and enforcement efforts," drinking and driving as well as driving while unlicensed will be reduced.
