Fourth of July Events Calendar

Enjoy water games by day, music in the park by early evening, and watch the sky light up at night.

The following is a list of activities scheduled for the Fourth of July holiday, as well as the nearest locations from which to view fireworks shows later in the evening. Have a safe and happy Independence Day!

Activities

When: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Where: Begg Pool, 1402 N. Peck Avenue, Manhattan Beach

What: Join the Aquatics staff for a day of water games, face painting, water balloon tosses, swimming, music and free food (while supplies last). The entire family is welcome. Children six years old and under must be accompanied by an adult in the water at all times. The cost is $5 per person at the door and all pool rules apply. When: 5 - 7 p.m.

Where: Polliwog Park, 1601 Manhattan Beach Boulevard

What: Join Scott Whyte and the Bromantics for an evening of classics and Top 40 songs at the park. The Manhattan Beach Concerts in the Park series is an annual, summer-long event. Performances are open seating and free to the public. Dogs, barbecues and wheeled vehicles are prohibited in the concert area. For more information, click here.

Fireworks viewing

9 p.m. — Fisherman's Village, 13755 Fiji Way, Marina del Rey. Call 310-305-9545 for more information.

9 p.m. — Wilson Park, 2200 Crenshaw Boulevard, Torrance. Call 310-372-2166 for more information.

9 p.m. — Recreation Park, 401 E. Sheldon Street, El Segundo. The city's annual celebration begins at 10 a.m. with food, games, contests and music. Seating for fireworks viewing is available at Stevenson Field for $3 in advance or $5 at the gate. For more information, call 310-524-2700.

9:30 p.m. — Seaside Lagoon, 200 Portofino Way, Redondo Beach. Day program begins at 2 p.m. Adults, $18; children (4-10), $12; children younger than 3, free. For more information, call 310-746-7650.
