Masago, Spinach, Bagged Salad Recalled

Masago and bagged salads and spinach are recalled over concerns of Listeria and Salmonella, respectively.

A Torrance company has recalled masago (capelin roe) because it may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, according to a news release posted on the Food and Drug Administration's website.

The organism was detected in masago distributed by Yamaya USA to retail stores in Los Angeles, Baltimore, Atlanta and Mexico.

According to the news release, the fish eggs were packaged in two-pound plastic containers decorated with Japanese and English writing that says "Yamaya USA, Inc." Item No. 09867 is included on the package.
