DIG DAY at the Leadership Manhattan Beach Sustainable Garden

Please come out and help the Leadership Manhattan Beach Class of 2012 with installing the infrastructure for the LMB Sustainable Garden project! This includes creating trenches for an underground sprinkler main, a French drain drip irrigation system and laying out pathways. PLUS…Experts from Rain Bird will be on site from 9am-11am with an exciting hands-on seminar demonstrating installation of drip water irrigation systems! Prepare to get dirty! Wearprotective clothes and shoes, gloves & sunscreen, The DIG DAY event will require some heavy lifting and for safety reasons, is not kid-friendly. Be sure to bring water to drink and any yard tools you might have!The LMB Sustainable Garden is located on the corner of at 15th Street and Valley Drive and will ultimately serveas a demonstration garden for Manhattan Beach residents as well as the entire South Bay community. Our goal is to educate people in environmentally-friendly landscaping and to inspire the use of sustainable gardening. This garden will teach people about sustainable landscaping principles that can be easily applied at home, with the ultimategoal of conserving water, saving money, and giving back to the environment. This garden is truly a community project and is 100% funded by the Leadership Manhattan Beach Class of 2012.
