Rotary Cares

“Rotary Cares” is an element of Manhattan Beach Rotary where a resident is selected to receive help. Generally, this is an elderly or disabled long time resident.

Recently, Manhattan Beach Rotary Club provided a new hand rail for a longtime Manhattan Beach resident.

Getting the newspaper, each morning from the bottom of the steps in front of her home, was a process of hanging on to each bush as she descended the stairs.

‘Rotary Cares’ workers installed the new handrail in one day and made the stairs much safer.

This simple but personal project demonstrates the depth of Manhattan Beach Rotary.  While Manhattan Beach Rotary spends time and money digging wells in Mali, delivering books in Peru, working with inner city schools, there are still the resources to reach out to the individual in need right here in our own community.

Manhattan Beach Rotary would like to give special thanks to Rotarian Steve De Baets for finding and leading this project.  Steve is one of those very quiet humble individuals, who does a great deal without being noticed.

Thank you Steve De Baets
