Sing Fires Out

Who needs water when we have soundwaves? Scientists have known for many years that soundwaves have the ability to put out a flame. This puzzling topic has been put to test, questioned, and pondered, but there are no real answers to this question. The students of University of West Georgia have discovered that the effective range for putting out flames is between 40 and 50 hertz, which is within the human hearing range. It is speculated that if the difference between the high and low-pressure peaks are large enough, then the flame will go out. This newfound knowledge is being used to create a system that will be able to put out fires in locations that are afraid of water damage.
