Michael James Griswold, 68, retired coach and teacher, husband of Cynthia Griswold of 9th Street, Manhattan Beach, died in Guatemala while on vacation, his wife reports.
Family and friends will be having a celebration of his life on Sunday, April 22, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hermosa Beach Kiwanis Club, 2515 Valley Drive, Hermosa Beach.
Said Cynthia, "My dearest Michael James Griswold passed away peacefully in his sleep. He had a sudden and massive brain hemorrhage. There was nothing we could do. He got excellent care at a private hospital in Guatemala city."
Cynthia reports that Michael died on April 14, not April 13 as she previously said.
