Husband, Son, Msgr. Barry Reflect on Life of Ruby May Hixson
A makeshift memorial to longtime Manhattan Beach resident Ruby May Hixson, who was hit and killed by a motorcyclist Tuesday morning, marked the sidewalk Wednesday near Sixth Street on Sepulveda Boulevard, where the 87-year-old was reportedly beginning her daily trek to a church mass service.
Daily Breeze reporter Larry Altman interviewed Ruby's 91-year-old husband, Harvey, a retired firefighter, son Robert Murphy and American Martyrs Monsignor John Barry, who delivered last rites to Ruby, after the collision.
