Ruby May Hixson: 9-22-25 to 8-20-13

Ruby May Hixson was born in Sacramento, California, and moved to the Los Angeles area as a young teenager. She married Robert Elmer Murphy and they raised four children in Manhattan Beach.

Ruby leaves behind her husband of 32 years, Harvey Earl Hixson, and her four children: Ellen (Ed) White, Eagle Rock, Missouri; Susan (Ken) Dade, Dolores, Colorado; Bob (Carolyn) Murphy, Yucca Valley, CA, and Maryanne (Jim) Abdon, Laka Havasu City, Arizona.

She had eight grandchildren: Janet Alcorn, Nancy Burleson, Garrett Dade, Jeff Murphy, Tami Pilgrim, and David, Kevin and Jason Abdon. Ruby had 13 great grandchildren: Jason, Jacob, Bobby, Aubrey, Sierra, Taylor, Robbie, Eimly, Caylin, Ryan, Ariana, Emily and Rider, and five great great grandchildren: Nicolas, Kailee, Caleb, Brandon and Matthew.

Ruby lived in Manhattan Beach for 66 years. She had many friends and neighbors who were dear to her, including her friends at early morning mass, and those friends she made as she walked all over Manhattan Beach.

She was a sweet woman spreading love, hugs and happiness and she will be dearly missed by all.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at American Martyrs Church in Manhattan Beach to celebrate Ruby's life.
