Purple with a Purpose Day is Friday, November 22

Thousands around the country will be gearing up in “Purple with a Purpose” for pancreatic cancer awareness. On Friday, November 22 TV personalities, celebrities, volunteers, survivors, friends and families touched by the disase will be wearing the "color of hope" on this special day. 

There is also a popular Twitter campaign using #purplewithapurpose and #likethefight for Facebook fans. Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (@PanCAN) followers have been asking their favorite celebrities and TV show hosts to show support for the fight against pancreatic cancer by wearing purple on the air and talking about the alarming statistics surrounding pancreatic cancer. 

Pancreatic cancer is currently the fourth leading cause of cancer death in the United States and is anticipated to become the second by 2020. It is one of the nation’s deadliest cancers with a five-year survival rate of just 6 percent.

The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network has turned Niagara Falls, the Chicago Skyline, the LAX pylons and other national landmarks purple for National Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month.
