Manhattan Beach Bomb Threat: Police Give the All Clear

Someone called the Manhattan Beach Police Department this morning, threatening to blow up the MBS Media Campus, but after an evacuation and exhaustive search, the property has been given the all-clear.

The call came in before 10 a.m., said MBPD Officer Stephanie Martin, who declined to give details about the threat. 

The studio had between 60-100 employees on site, all of whom were able to evacuate without incident, she said.

Four nearby police agencies' personnel and bomb-sniffing dogs joined Manhattan Beach police in painstakingly combing through the large property filled with soundstages that by themselves are as big as 25,000 square feet, Martin said. Photos of the stages can be seen at the studio website here.
 
According to the Los Angeles Times, "Thor" and "Captain America: Winter Soldier" were filmed there.
"Employees are returning and everything is OK," Martin said.

Manhattan Beach police are requesting residents stay away from the 1600 block of Rosecrans Avenue.

An alert says there is police activity in the area but does not go in to more detail.

A tweet from Channel 7 news says it's a bomb threat. The Los Angeles Times is reporting the threat is targeting the MBS Media Campus.
