Burglars Steal a Gun, a Safe and Jewelry in Recent Residential Burglaries

Homes have been broken into in several neighborhoods.

Weapons, a gun, a safe, a watch and jewelry are among the items taken by burglars in MB between March 22 and April 12, according to Manhattan Beach Police Department reports.

In the 1000 block of N. Herrin St. on March 22 between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m., an unknown suspect unsuccessfully attempted to pry open the rear sliding glass door and a rear wood door to a residence. When that didn't work, the burglar gained entry by smashing a rear window. Several rooms in the house were ransacked, with a watch and weapons stolen.

In the 200 block of N. Dianthus St. on April 1 between 10:30 a.m. and 5:15 p.m., an unknown suspect pried open the master bathroom door and stole jewelry and cash. Police believe the suspect may have entered the home from the balcony.

In the following two cases, the burglars didn't have much of a window in which to snag their loot, but they still were successful.

On April 9 between 12:40 and 2:05 p.m. in the 1700 block of Nelson Ave., an unknown suspect kicked in the exterior garage door to enter a home, ransacking bedrooms and stealing jewelry.

And on April 12 between 6:30 and 8:40 p.m. in the 700 block of 27th St., an unknown suspect entered the home through an upstairs bedroom window by using a ladder. The suspect rummaged through property in 3 bedrooms and a bathroom, taking a safe, jewelry and a gun.
