Burglars, Thieves Strike Again

An open second-story window allows burglars to steal jewelry and a laptop.

A home in the 1400 block of Eighth Street was burglarized last Friday between 11 a.m. and 9:19 p.m., according to the Manhattan Beach Police Department. Officers made the discovery when they responded to an audible burglary alarm.

The burglars entered the home through an open second-story window. Jewelry and a laptop were stolen, according to police.

On Tuesday, Sept. 16, a purse was stolen from the back seat of a car parked on the street in the 2700 block of North Ardmore Avenue sometime between 9:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. The suspect smashed the passenger side window to enter the vehicle, said police.

Money and documents were stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in a driveway in the 700 block of 30th Street sometime between last 10 p.m. Saturday and 6 a.m. Sunday, said police.

And a white, 1986 Honda Elite RS scooter parked on the street was stolen in the 200 block of Sea View Street sometime between 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17 and 1:16 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18.
