Police are attempting to determine if a June robbery in which a gun was used is related to a more recent gunpoint robbery, said Det. Michael Rosenberger.
The most recent incident happened on July 2 at about 7:50 p.m. at a bus bench at the intersection of Manhattan Beach and Sepulveda boulevards. A black male suspect about 30-years-old rode up on a bicycle, sat down next to the victim, pulled a gun a short time later, pointed it at the victim and demanded his iPhone and wallet, stated Rosenberger. The gun was described as a black, semi-automatic handgun.
The suspect fled on the bike southbound on Sepulveda Boulevard with the cell phone and wallet.
