Motorcyclist Injured in Collision with Car

The male motorcyclist is transported to an area hospital.

Updated: 11:05 p.m.

The male driver of a motorcycle that collided with a Honda Civic on the El Segundo side of Rosecrans Ave. Sunday night was reported to be alive after being transported to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in critical condition, said Sergeant Kenny McShane of the El Segundo Police Department.

The motorcyclist is believed to be at fault according to a preliminary investigation, he told Patch.

The collision happened around 7:53 p.m near Pacific Ave., and closed westbound traffic from Sepulveda Blvd. until about 10:30 p.m.

Manhattan Beach paramedic/firefighters treated the man on scene and transported him in critical condition, said Ron Laursen, MBFD battalion chief.

McShane said the female driver of the Honda Civic was not injured.

Police officers from Manhattan Beach, Hawthorne, Torrance, Gardena and El Segundo were on scene shortly after the collision, as was a CHP vehicle.

Tne female driver was drunk. She is a cop, and it appears every agency in town is imvolved in the cover up.

Hi Daniel, Where do you get your information from? I was at the scene and the woman is not a police officer. Because it was St. Patrick's Day, the regional DUI task force was out, which is why all the different agencies responded; they pretty much just happened to be in the area.

would not surprise me one bit if she was a drunk cop, things are not adding up with this. They said he hit a stopped car at the light. After the wreck both the bike and car are a good 25+ yards before the light. There is no way any car should be stopped that car back.

The good thing is he did survive, But Lost his lower left leg.

Seriously doubt there is any cover up regardless if the female driver is or is not a police officer. Back in 1984-1989 there was a very infamous case of a Torrance off duty cop hitting a motorcyclist up in PV when the biker made a left turn in front of the officer's personal auto. It was alleged the off duty cop was DUI but local sheriffs (or who ever the agency is that investigated) did not do a sobriety test on the cop. The City of Torrance was sued by the motorcyclist's heirs and lost millions. Since then all officer involved accidents are investigated by an independent agency like the CHP. In these days of transparency and litigation NO one will cover up anything!!

Regardless, officers told me the night it happened that he hit a car stopped at the red light. No car was stopped that far back from the light at that time of night....things aren't adding up from what the cops are saying & the photos of the scene...

I think traffic may have been backed up more than is typical at that light due to a no left turn due to road work and timing on the signals being slightly off. Neighbors in the area told me they'd been experiencing traffic backups on Rosecrans.

If the motorcyclist rear ended the stopped car, regardless of why the car was stopped, the motorcycle is at fault. No big cover up based on the facts.

The driver. Of the. Car. Was 647f. I am sorry i would have responded mucb sooner if i was awARE . As far as my information, it is not mine. It is the cops info straight from their mouths. Iistened to it over the radio. Goto my channel on youtube and you cN listen to it yourself. your mistKen. You think i made up that its a cop because all the agencies? That is the dumbest thing i have heRd in a while. Next to it not being a cover up because there was a task force. Correct my spelling please...but my. Facts are accurate, when i insure of one, i will say. And when i am wrong, i want to know. Danieljsaulmon is my real name, My yputube channel, that has this oncident. If you have any omfp on tbos oncident pleZe contCt me, police refuze to tk. Hiding behind acfive investigation. Mcshane and tne sb.

My yt channel name is my name. Letz tLk about this. Ru a witness. The witnesses on official record are all firemen...you know, our heroes...the ones that have never ever reported a single police crime, despite being present for every one with injury. This incident. Settles it for me, fd officials are cowards. They say unpopular decisions and statements are not easy to make. This statement will be unpopulR no doubt. It could not be easier foe me to sY. We are a bunch of cowards, or a group with no morals. Does the truth matter tl npbody. Too much work. If ngiven to you on a spoon.
danieljsaulmon March 28, 2013 at 09:03 AM
To the usual suspects. Since. When. Its the mc fault for rear end. Dlesnt matter cop was drink. Is that your take. Here is my take. It was an accident, so o dont care who is at fault. The drunk though, should be treated accordingly. Let her go? Fine i am easy to get along with. Let every other drunk go then as well. The t. Is, sobers were arrested all night by task force, while they hid the only drunk in parking lot just east of fries. They zaid several times that. It was a fatal. I jVe contacted pd theu refuse to say anything.

Daniel, You have a recording of the call on your YouTube? Whats the title of it on your page I would love to hear it for my self. Thanks!
No one March 28, 2013 at 05:07 PM
Danieljsaulmon, I guess you are not a licensed driver in California? Vehicle code section 22350 is applicable. Too fast for conditions. Regardless of why the car was stopped the motorcycle operator has the duty to maintain control of his bike and travel at a speed safe for doing so. No documentation the driver was DUI and you should not post things like that without substantiation.

Moparman... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sd7tEvfB3IM&feature=youtube_gdata_player This is link. Ff past my rambling, listen to what police have to say. Keep in mind some of the talk is related to other incidents. Parts are confusing if your not used to hearing radio traffic. A lot is very clear though, this story will make perfect sense once you learn the truth. Comment with your thoughts if you dont mind.
danieljsaulmon April 01, 2013 at 04:37 PM
The usual suspects...your mistaken bacon, and i think you know that. There is no substantiation for this story. Listen to the audio yourself, tben if you feel the same tell the police, since its their statements, not mine. Or if you already knew get real mad and say nothing. I am sorry, but all one needs to do is look at the car pointing more north then west, blocking all lanes...not even close to.a
danieljsaulmon April 01, 2013 at 04:45 PM
Signal. Dont forget to skip my comments at start because some of my initial conclusions are just assumptions. Only thing for sure is this story was told by union rep, or closest thing they could find on the spot. I dont mean the writer of this ztory...i have no reason to doubt her integrity, but plenty to doubt that of her source.
danieljsaulmon April 01, 2013 at 04:53 PM
One last point. I am shocked my comment was not immediately removed. There have been several unfortunate incidents like this where i felt it was the right thing to do, tell the truth when nobody else was going to otherwise. This is unusual in that my comment was not censored...Other times were main stream media, not patch. Thank you for allowing my comments to remain despite being very unpopular.
danieljsaulmon April 01, 2013 at 05:09 PM
Uzual suspects quit changing the subject and being dishonezt. When a drunk pulls across all lanez, killing or neRly killing someone, that is a felony, unless its done by an officer. Some of you already know, lizten to know for sure. I am not blaming any ody, just being honest. There is a lot of peer prezsure in police and fire jobs to keep things like this private. Itz not as if they are being dishonest to anyone that matters, its only to the public. Its not like it was a cop who had his life stolen only to be insulted...its asa difficult job after all.
danieljsaulmon April 01, 2013 at 05:21 PM
Again to usual suzpects. Your misreprezentation of tbe torrance incixent iz shameful, not only were they guilty as hell in that incident, but just last year unless it was 2011, mike mastic from internal affairs waz caught drunk accixent left scene, had his wife claim it was her...or are my fActs mixed up...there have been zeveral so stfu with your ignorant police lies. I am not the only one who seez these clear as day, just the only one who takes the time to confront you. Lie some more. By now u should know dishonesty by you guys will fill this page with facts.
moparman April 01, 2013 at 06:05 PM
I didn't hear anything about an off duty officer being involved, yes they did say there may be an off duty officer on scene. But what the cops are saying about him hitting a car that was stopped at the light cant be right. The car was way to far back from the light to be stopped for it. At that time of night there is never enough traffic for it to be stopped that far back. The good news is he lived, The bad news is he lost his lower left leg & had no other injuries
