Do You Know These Alleged Belmont Shore Thieves?

Several alleged Second Street shoplifters were caught on store surveillance cameras that are now in the hands of the Long Beach Police Department. Recognize any suspects?

Belmont Shore businesses were struck two days this week with shoplifters who stole merchandise and workers' cell phones from various Second Street businesses.

According to the Belmont Shore Business Association's executive director, Dede Rossi, the two primary stores with losses were women's apparel shops Kimberlys and Jenny G. The latter is where these surveillance photos were taken.

The first strike was Sunday (Aug. 19), when the above stores were hit by thefts that included garments and employees' personal cell phones, Rossi said in an e-alert. It appears the same group also showed up at Subject Clothing and Footwear but they were noticed as suspect and were under watch, Rossi wrote.

On Tuesday afternoon, the same suspected shoplifters were recognized by various employees who had seen them Sunday. Rossi herself recognized them from surveillance photos. She said she saw them "near Rubios, Buffalo Exchange and Polly's coffee.

"I saw some of the suspects get on a bus in front of We Olive going west. Please call the police if you see any of these people," Rossi added.

As part of a new citywide campaign by Long Beach Police Department, private video cameras can be registered with the department.

For business owners or residents, private security cameras may be registered with police. Video Camera Registration

If they were recognized, why weren't the police called right away?

Neil, I found no typos in the article but did see hoplifters in the deck, and corrected it. We certainly don't need hoplifters preying on our local business, and thanks.

It looks like Kenyata that steals from Gap stores... They are shady.

These people started stealing phones again! They stole my phone from Stroyteller Productions on November 19, 2012. I tracked the phone for the police but still no luck.
