PHOTOS: SWAT Responds to Shots Fired in Manhattan Beach

Protocol brought SWAT to the scene of a report of shots fired in Manhattan Beach Saturday morning, said a Manhattan Beach Police Department spokesman on scene in the Sand Section neighborhood.

Nearly seven hours after the report, waiting to receive a search warrant and waiting for the effects of tear gas to subside, SWAT entered the home to find no one inside, said Det. Sgt. Paul Ford of the Manhattan Beach Police Department.

The initial call to police came in around 4 a.m., he said, and when patrol officers arrived, saw blood and a broken window, they decided to call in SWAT.
