Five Juveniles Cited in MB
Last Friday's 'Party Patrol' issued citations to five youths in Manhattan Beach, three in Hermosa Beach and two in El Segundo.
Five of the ten citations issued to youths during a "Party Patrol" were handed out in Manhattan Beach, MBPD Sergeant Chris Vargas told Patch Tuesday. Three were issued in Hermosa Beach and two in El Segundo.
Yesterday's article about a March 30 Party Patrol listed the offenses as possession of alcohol, marijuana and tobacco, open containers of alcohol in a vehicle, as well as curfew violations. Vargas added public intoxication today, saying a youth was cited in El Segundo and released to his parents. Several of the youths were cited for more than one offense.
Vargas said the Party Patrol deployment on Friday, March 30 lasted seven hours, with officers from each city conducting the patrol within their city. They will respond to help each other out, as needed, he said.

The current grant funds covering the Party Patrols expires on June 30, 2012. Officials are awaiting word on the results of another grant application for the same work. Vargas said the patrols will continue to be deployed after the existing grant has expired.
