Juveniles in MB Cited for Alleged Alcohol-Related Issues

Six youths were cited by the 'Party Patrol' in Manhattan Beach. Do you think alcohol is a problem for our MB youth?

Six of the eight citations issued to juveniles during a "Party Patrol" on June 21 took place in Manhattan Beach.

The six citations were for public intoxication [four citations], possession of alcohol and possesion of an open container of alcohol, said Sergeant Chris Vargas of the Manhattan Beach Police Department.

No one was cited in Hermosa Beach; two juveniles were cited in El Segundo for violating curfew.

Sgt. Vargas said that the youths cited in MB were released to their parents and given a date to appear in court.

The class of 2012 graduated from Mira Costa High School at a ceremony June 21. Sgt. Vargas said none of the citations were directly related to the graduation ceremony.
