LAX Terminal Closed after Bomb Scare

Terminal 7 at Los Angeles International Airport was partially evacuated today after person falsely claimed to have a bomb, authorities said.

The incident began about 7:40 a.m. in the ticketing area, and the terminal was declared safe after about an hour, said airport spokeswoman Amanda Parsons.

The suspect "stated he had a bomb in his bag" and was taken into custody, Parsons said. His age was not immediately known. No explosives were found, Parsons said.
