Man Uses Handgun to Rob Victim in Popular Parking Lot

The man with the handgun appeared around 5 p.m. to commit the armed robbery.

A man sitting in his vehicle was robbed by a man brandishing a black handgun on Saturday, Dec. 14 around 5:05 p.m., according to a Manhattan Beach Police Department report.

The armed robbery, in which the victim's wallet and cell phone were stolen, happened in the lower Fry’s parking lot in the 3600 block of Sepulveda Boulevard near Rosecrans Avenue.

Police say the suspect is a male Hispanic adult who was wearing shorts and a grey/camouflage hoodie. After brandishing the handgun and taking the victim's personal belongings, the suspect then ran up the hill toward Manhattan Village shopping center, entered the passenger side of a black Nissan Sentra and drove away toward the west part of the Manhattan Village shopping center.
