City to Honor Fallen Police Officers

The public is invited to attend the 6th Annual Peace Officer Memorial Ceremony on Saturday, May 11.

The city of Manhattan Beach will honor three police officers who were killed in the line of duty on Saturday during the 6th Annual Peace Officer Memorial Ceremony.

Officer Charles Frederick Grau (End of Watch: September 11, 1952), Officer Richard Timothy Giles (End of Watch: February 14, 1962) and Officer Martin Lane Ganz (End of Watch: December 27, 1993) will be remembered in a ceremony that begins at 10 a.m. in the public safety building parking lot near 15th St., accessible from Valley Drive. The city's police and fire facilities are located in the building at 400/420 15th St.

The public is invited to join city officials, police and fire staff and family members of the fallen officers in a ceremony that honors and celebrates their lives, said Public Information Officer Stephanie Martin of the police department.
