MBPD this week confirmed that they believe the injured motorcyclist that broadsided a vehicle last Thursday is Hermosa Beach resident Cameron King.
King remains in stable condition after undergoing surgery at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, where he was taken after the 4:30 p.m. crash on Sepulveda Boulevard at Tennyson Street, said Mark Mason, a Manhattan Beach Police Sergeant in the traffic division.
Mason said that MBPD is unaware of any living relatives; King's mother and stepfather passed away in September and two weeks ago, respectively, according to a media report.
On Monday, Shannon Hamed, a friend of King's, told The Beach Reporter that the motorcyclist was in the Intensive Care Unit in critical condition with broken bones, head trauma and not breathing on his own. Doctors won't know if he has suffered a brain injury until the swelling lessens, she said.
King reportedly has lived in Hermosa for about five years.
