Pair Suspected in Burglaries Across South Bay Caught in Covina

Two people suspected of thievery from the South Bay to the San Gabriel Valley are due in court today after being caught red-handed exiting the scene of one of their crimes, authorities said.

Lamarr Dean, 24, and Kimaris Taylor, 19, have been charged with residential burglary after detectives from the sheriff's Burglary/Robbery Task Force watched them enter and exit a residence on the 4700 block of Fenimore Ave. in Covina Tuesday morning.

Sheriff's Sgt. Michael Maher said the suspects ransacked the residence, taking jewelry and other items.

Maher said an intitial attempt to stop the suspects as they drove out of the neighborhood was unsuccessful, and a short chase ensued before they were detained. Dean, the vehicle driver, was also charged with felony evading.

Maher said the pair were suspected of involvement in burglaries over an area of Los Angeles extending from the South Bay to the San Gabriel Valley.

Each was being held in lieu of $50,000 bail and due to appear in Pomona Municipal Court today, according to county inmate records.
