Police Arrest DUIs, Drunk, Capture Suspects

Police make early morning arrests east of Sepulveda Boulevard near 2nd and 3rd streets. They also make DUI arrests and one for public intoxication.

Manhattan Beach police officers have made several arrests since last Wednesday.

On Thursday, March 22, MBPD arrested three individuals for driving under the influence, said Stephanie Martin, public information officer for MBPD.

Then, on Saturday, March 24, police arrested one person for being drunk in public, she told Manhattan Beach Patch.

MBPD also recently apprehended two individuals who either fled from police or were believed to have attempted to break into a vehicle parked in a driveway.

On Sunday, March 25, at about 3 a.m., an MBPD officer saw a person who was walking in the 1600 block of 2nd Street who, upon seeing the officer, then began to run into a nearby construction site. Officers surrounded the site and the suspect eventually came out without incident, according to Martin, who said the person was on probation for grand theft and was arrested for two outstanding warrants.

On Sunday, March 18, at about 3:23 a.m., police found an individual who met the description of someone who was reportedly trying to break into a vehicle in a neighbor's driveway in the 1400 block of 3rd Street. When detained, the individual was found to be in possession of stolen property and subsequently arrested.
