A cashier at the Roundhouse Aquarium & Cafe reported an incident of battery Sept. 4. The employee told police she was opening for the day and placing chairs outside the cafe when a man approached her. She described the man as having a shaved head and several "gang style" tattoos on his head, face and hands.

The man reportedly asked the woman when the coffee was going to be ready, to which she replied it would take about 15 minutes. The man then said, "Hey, honey, where you live at?" according to the woman, who responded, "Save it."

The man put his face in front of the woman's, asking her to repeat herself. "You heard me," she replied, after which the man grabbed her left arm and hair, pulling her toward the ground.

She told police she hit the man in the arm, causing him to release his hold on her hair. He then reportedly drew back his right fist, as if preparing to hit the woman, before lowering his arm and walking back down the pier.

Watch for falling rocks

A motorist reported an incident of vandalism at 2nd Street and Aviation Boulevard on Sept. 5. While driving north on Aviation, the man noticed several rocks fall onto the hood and windshield of his GMC Yukon, he told police. The man slowed down and noticed a young, blond woman on the roof of the Londoner salon who reportedly ducked out of sight when the motorist looked up. Police searched the condominium complex directly behind the shopping center where the salon is located but were unable to find anyone matching the suspect's description.

Taken on faith

Police responded to a report of theft at the Journey of Faith church on Sept. 6. A teacher at the church's school told police she left her open purse on a chair in her office before going to a different room to work on a project. She returned about six hours later and noticed her wallet missing from the purse. The wallet reportedly contained $5 in cash, various credit and gift cards, and two Rascal Flatts concert tickets.
